SIXT Autovuokraamo | Rovaniemi Lentoasema

Had a great experience with them. I waited with this review until I get my deposit back. I rented for 4 days last week. At first I was a bit skeptical when saw other reviews, but had no other choice since they are the only ones who accept debit cards. Friendly staff, explained me everything well, easy and quick car pickup, the same for return. The car was ready on time, clean and in perfect condition. The deposit unblocked/returned on the 3rd working day after rental. If I ever go to Rovaniemi again, I’ll rent with them.

Avoid this rental service In Rovaniemi. In six months after the rental (which was in September) they charged me 52 euros because they received the road toll invoice from Norway. The road toll fee was just 11,52 euros but they added 40 euros of so called administrative fee which is hidden in the agreement. Read the agreement carefully and better choose another company if you don't want to have an unpleasant surprise in a while.

No waiting time and cars are parked very next to the airport (1 min walking). Employees are nice The car was clean and well equipped (including heating seats and Apple CarPlay!) No issues when giving the car back - giving the keys took 1 minute and we received confirmation that everything was ok 1 hour later

Let me be completely honest: never again Sixt. I have never had any problems with a rental car in any country except in Rovaniemi at the airport with Sixt. The car was delivered late, and the staff were extremely unfriendly. From the very beginning, the car had defects that the employees had not noticed from previous renters. In addition, the car had engine problems throughout the entire rental period. On our first day, it was −30°C and the car suddenly would not start in the middle of nowhere. We called roadside assistance, and they were on their way. Shortly afterward, the car started on its own again, and we informed roadside assistance by phone that we no longer needed help. The woman on the phone told us that, for safety reasons, we should still wait until they arrived. We followed these instructions and clearly told the roadside assistance worker when he arrived that we did not need any help. He said that we would not have to pay anything and drove away laughing. Now that we are back home, we have received a bill for several hundred euros that we are supposed to pay, even though we did not use any service. This is extremely outrageous, and we would never recommend Sixt. I am very disappointed.

The car broke down while we were on the road: the check engine light came on, the hybrid system shut down, and the vehicle limited its speed to 50 km/h. This happened while my partner and I were on a long secondary road, heading toward our accommodation in −37°C cold. We tried calling Sixt’s emergency line several times, but without success. We managed to reach only one woman, who tried to connect us with someone, but to no avail. We received neither guidance nor assistance in resolving the issue, so we continued our journey. Although the car could only travel at a maximum of 50 km/h, we eventually managed to reach our accommodation. In −37°C conditions, this situation could have been extremely dangerous!!! If the car had stopped, we would have been in serious trouble. Meanwhile, Sixt did not even attempt to provide assistance, despite the woman promising that they would call us back. This is unacceptable. When we returned the car, we told the staff member what had happened, but he did not seem particularly interested either… this is how important their customers’ physical safety apparently is!
